Disney Channel was the go-to cure for boredom for all of us when we were younger, and there was no shortage of high-quality entertainment. 2006 was no exception, producing the following six movie/television phenomenon all within the same year. Whether you’ve seen all of them or none of them, they’re all worth watching again now, ten years later.

1.Hannah Montana

This was everyone’s #1 show when it was on. I mean, what part of Miley’s double life wasn’t entertaining? When you heard the iconic theme song,  “Best of Both Worlds,” you knew you were about to witness another crazy adventure in the life of a pop star and her best friends.

2. High School Musical

High School Musical is arguably one of the most iconic movies of all time. Songs and memorable one liners could make any movie good. Refresh yourself on the magic of Troy and Gabriella’s romance with their performance of  “Start of Something New.”

3. Emperor’s New School

This spinoff of “The Emperor’s New Groove” just proved that surviving public school might be even harder than being emperor. There’s no denying that Kuzco was one of the most relatable characters on television, and the theme song was the original jam.

4. Cars

After using bugs, monsters, fish, and superheroes, what better way to express the beauty of friendships than with cars? Lightning McQueen meets some unexpected friends on his journey to the biggest race of his life. Watch the trailer here.

5. The Shaggy Dog

Tim Allen turns into a dog. Need I say more? I’m not sure anyone can truly capture the craziness of this movie, so here’s the trailer.

6. Disney Channel Games

Because who doesn’t want to see Lucas Grabeel and Moises Arias in a hardcore hamster ball race? If you’re anything like me, you won’t be opposed to watching multiple YouTube clips of these old Disney stars competing in insane competitions, hosted by none other than Mr. Moseby (Phill Lewis). Here’s one to get you started.
