The SkyHawks football season began with a boom, as kicker sophomore Quin Mendlik booted the ball far into the end zone for a touchback. Not long after, senior Ian Urban ran for 60+ yards, made possible by senior Tom Kingston and a monster block. The play after that and junior Ryan Moritz drove it straight into the end zone. The student section roared as junior Ryan Mortiz tossed a 33-yard pass to Urban for a touchdown. The nextThe Skyhawks showed up hungry and fearsome against Beatrice and started the season with a 35-0 win. A relentless offense and brick-wall defense put the Skyhawks on top and sent Beatrice packing.
