Jan. 25, 2017 — At 7 p.m. Thursday, HOSA held their career night. Current students and an ER doctor answered questions from members of the group and spoke more about their current or future professions.
HOSA, or Health Occupation Students of America, is a club where students interested in pursuing a career in medicine headed by Mr. Engelkamp and Mrs. Wawers. HOSA Career Night is held at least once a semester, where people in the medical field talk to students about how they got to where they are in their profession, or where they are on their path to becoming a doctor, physical therapist, etc.
HOSA has meetings throughout the school year to discuss upcoming events including service opportunities, tours of hospitals and medical clinics, and chances for members to shadow people in the medical field. They also host bake sales and prepare for the state competition, which is held in the spring.
