Nov. 8, 2017 — A short but sweet celebration took place in Skutt Catholic’s commons between second and third periods today.

Students gathered to celebrate the decisions of five seniors to attend their selected colleges and participate in high level athletics. Among the students were Delaney Saucier (Volleyball, Arkansas State University), Maggie Washer (Softball, Regis University), Josh Olson (Baseball, Augustana University), Billy Higgins (Wrestling, University of Northern Colorado), and Anna DiMari (Softball, George Mason University).

For senior Anna DiMari, the decision to attend George Mason University in Fairfax, VA (near Washington, D.C.) was made long before Wednesday’s event. “I wasn’t hesitant in making my decision about George Mason. It’s my dream school, so when the offered, I accepted it right away.”

“My experience [today] was great! Reality finally set in and now it’s all real and actually happening,” DiMari continued.

Like DiMari, senior Josh Olson, who committed to Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD, says his decision to attend the school seemed rather natural. “I loved everything about the school,” says Olson, “It was a great [experience] to sign along with other great athletes from [the] class.”

Upcoming National Signing Days for high school athletes are slated for next month, as well as February and April of next year.
