Swimwear, talent, and seven senior boys can only mean one thing: the annual Mr. Skyhawk Pageant. Every year during Hawktober the best of the male senior class compete in multiple classic pageant events to claim the title. It is a night filled with school spirit and a lot of laughter.

“The purpose of the pageant is to add to the fun of Homecoming Week,” said pageant teacher sponsor Mrs. Alli McNeil, “It is truly a week to celebrate the pride we all take in being a SkyHawk. Not only that, but it is something out of the ordinary of the school routine,” McNeil continued.

Tonight, seniors Ben Altman, DJ Bouda, Ryan Meyer, Jet Paronable,  Bryce Wesely, and Stevie Yaghmour will compete in 3 rounds: swimwear, talent showcase, and formal wear, which includes an interview. This is one of the biggest lineups we have had in years, there is no doubt tonight will be one for the history books.

The contestants are not the only exciting part of this event; host senior Cal Strawhecker has quite the performance prepared. “I have many tricks up my sleeves,” said Strawhecker, “Many of the things happening this evening are spontaneous and no one, not even the contestants, knows exactly what is going to happen. If you want to be thoroughly entertained by seeing some of Skutt Catholic’s students make fools of themselves, tonight is the night.” Strawhecker finished.

The Mr. SkyHawk Pageant only comes once a year, and for many, this is our last chance to see our classmates parade on stage, have a few laughs, and claim the most prestigious award offered to the male SkyHawk population.
