On and off the court, Becca Langel is a truly memorable person. Not only does she make an impact in volleyball, but also with the people who interact with her on a daily basis. Whether in the hallways, sports events or just out and about, Becca can almost always be seen with a smile on her face. One of the first things that come to mind about her is her ability to treat everyone she meets with a kind and welcoming attitude. The Flightline was able to ask Langel 26 questions about sports, her plans for the future, and other aspects of her life that will allow others to see behind the jersey.

What is your role on the volleyball team and how long have you been playing?
I’m a passer, and I’ve been playing for 11 years.

Do you plan on playing after high school?
No, I don’t plan on playing in college.

Do you play on a team not affiliated with Skutt?
I’ve played at Nebraska Impact and Performance.

What else do you participate in at Skutt?
I participate in HOSA, Operation Others, campus ministry, and reserve soccer.

Do you have a job?
Yes, I work at Runza.

What career field do you want to go into?
Operating Room nurse or nurse practitioner.

What would you name your boat if you had one?

Which fictional character would be the most boring to meet in real life?
Velma from Scooby Doo.

What is the dumbest way you’ve been injured?
I inhaled a nut when I was one and it went down my breathing tube and I couldn’t breathe.

What’s the most interesting thing you’ve read or seen this week?
Lily Heyne’s dance moves.

What ridiculous thing has someone tricked you into believing?
That there’s a pool on the roof at Skutt.

If you were president what is the first thing you would do?
Get North Korea in check.

What teacher in school made the most impact on you and why?
Mr. Englekamp, because he never lets you do short of your best and he always keeps you in check.

What’s the best compliment you have ever received?
That I’m genuine and trustworthy.

Describe your perfect pizza?
Just cheese.

What’s your favorite internet meme?
Kermit the Frog sipping tea.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?
Winning state.

Were you sad when vine got shut down?

If you were a tree what kind of tree would you be?
A palm tree.

How did you meet your best friend?
We met in freshman year PE class.

What is a skill you’d like to learn and why?
Sign language, because it makes an impact on how I can help people.

If you could choose your own nickname, what would it be?

Do you have any pets? If so what kind and what are their names? If not, do you want any?
Yes, I have a plott hound named Bailey.

What smell reminds you of when you were a kid?

What’s the longest you have gone without sleep?
24 hours, from 8am to 8am the next day.

What do you want to be remembered by?
I want to be remembered by being an easy person to talk to, being a great friend, and being easily approachable by anyone.
