The coffee machine in the SkyHawk Student Center

Skutt Catholic never settles for anything less than the absolute best, and the incredibly extra coffee machine in the SkyHawk Student Center is no exception. The bright blue coffee apparatus dispenses a single cup of joe, chosen custom by and for the student. There are a lot of options, and I mean A LOT of options for coffee choices. This had me wondering how I would know which drink to choose from so that I could get the most out of my dollar. Below are my rankings of the best and worst coffee choices from Skutt Catholic’s very own machine.

1. Cafe Vanilla Mocha:

Pure deliciousness with the appropriate blend of yummy and caffeine.

2. Americano:

A classic black(ish) coffee, perfect for studying.

3. Cafe Hazelnut/Hazelnut:

I’m not sure if just adding “cafe” to the beginning of a drink makes it taste better, but these two drinks are definitely worth your buck.

4. Choco-vanilla:

The name kind of speaks for itself, it’s an interesting mix of two distinct flavors.

5. Single Shot:

Perfect for those of us who are unable to stay awake during class.

6. Hot Chocolate:

For the less committed caffeine fans, this is a nice classic that reminds me of what some gas stations also call Hot Chocolate.

7. French Vanilla:

Best way to sum this up would be a solid “meh”.

8. Gourmet Coffee:

All I have to say is do not call yourself what you cannot live up to.

9. Hot Water:

You just really cannot go wrong on this one.

10. Choco Latte:

My expectations may have been set too high for this drink, but chocolate needs to be blended properly in order to be mixed with so much espresso.

11. Decaf Coffee:

This may be a little too biased since I don’t drink decaf anyway, but nevertheless this cup just did not do justice to caffeine as a whole.

I will admit, I am a coffee snob, so it’s okay to take my advice or leave it. Despite being unimpressed with less than a few drinks, the machine as a whole has a lot to offer students when it comes to delicious refreshments. 10/10 – I would recommend giving the automated barista machine in the Student Center a looksee.
